Lizard’s Thicket restaurant on Beltline Boulevard to close for renovations

A Columbia restaurant that has been open since 1982 will be getting a face-lift.

lizardsthicketThe Lizard’s Thicket at 402 Beltline Blvd. will close for several weeks for renovations beginning Aug. 3.

Lizard’s Thicket will announce plans for the grand reopening of the Beltline location later in August.

“We have so many long-time customers that love the Lizard’s Thicket Beltline location, and we want to update the restaurant as a thank you to them,” said Bobby Williams, chairman of Lizard’s Thicket.

The doors, floors and interior walls of the restaurant will be replaced, and the planned result is a restaurant that looks more like newer Lizard’s Thicket locations.

The Williams family, which owns and operates all Lizard’s Thicket restaurants, opened the Beltline location in 1982 as their third restaurant.
