New Hobby Lobby on Two Notch Road celebrates grand opening
Residents in Northeast Richland County welcomed the grand opening of Hobby Lobby on Monday morning. The 50,000-square-foot craft store is on Two Notch Road across from the Village at Sandhills and offers a plethora of crafts and home goods.
“We’re just happy to be here,” said manager Sarah Polley.
Polley said it took two weeks to set up before the store had its soft opening last Thursday. A steady stream of customers stopped by to purchase fabric, scrapbooking materials and florals.
The Two Notch location is the third Hobby Lobby in Columbia, with one on Forest Drive and another on Augusta Road in West Columbia. Polley said customers in the Northeast appreciate no longer having to drive far to get to the store.
“Customers have told us, ‘We are so glad you are located up here,’ ” Polley said.
Hobby Lobby has 11 departments, including floral, fabric, framing, arts and hobbies, crafts, home decor and a seasonal section that changes with each holiday. Polley said the store is in the process of adding classes including Wilton cake decorating, Deco Mesh and jewelry-making.
Polley said the store is fully staffed but that they always are accepting applications. Hobby Lobby is at 10258 Two Notch Road. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
