Lexington Cardiology welcomes interventional cardiologist
Lexington Cardiology has 11 board-certified cardiologists with the practice’s latest addition, Dr. Robert A. Leonardi.
A part of the Lexington Medical Center network of care, Lexington Cardiology has offices in downtown Columbia and West Columbia. The practice offers cardiac consultation and evaluations, echocardiograms, nuclear stress testing, vascular studies, pacemaker and defibrillator services, heart catheterizations, and in-hospital procedures among other services.
Leonardi comes to the Midlands from the American College of Cardiology where he was the South Carolina Fellows-in-Training representative. The Greenville native earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Following his internal medicine residency at Duke University in Durham, where he achieved board certification in this specialty, Leonardi completed his education with a cardiology fellowship at MUSC and fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural interventional cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta.
He also obtained board certification in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine.
Leonardi said he is looking forward to providing a high level of care to local patients. His training will allow him to treat select cases with minimally invasive technology.
“I enjoy the procedural aspects of cardiology because they can provide immediate benefits to patients that help them feel better and live longer,” he said.
He is accepting new patients. More information on Lexington Cardiology can be found here.
