2 arrested in separate domestic violence cases
Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men Monday in connection with separate and unrelated domestic violence cases. Both men were on the Sheriff’s Department’s Wanted Persons list.
Sultan Islam Battle, 34, was served with an arrest warrant on a charge of criminal domestic violence.
Rusty Wade Nale, 25, was served with a magistrate’s court bench warrant issued after Nale allegedly failed to appear in court on a charge of criminal domestic violence.
Gunfire at nightclub leads to arrest on drug charges
A Georgia man was arrested in Lugoff after shots were fired at a nightclub.
Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Dec. 21 arrested 53-year-old Melvin Harris of Locust Grove, Ga., after being called to the Plums lounge on U.S. Highway 1 in Lugoff.
Witnesses told deputies that Harris had fired two shots inside the club in an attempt to break up a fight. No one was injured in the shooting.
Deputies said they found Harris in a nearby hotel allegedly in possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, scales, packaging material and $1,539 in cash.
Harris was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine as well as possession within proximity to a school.
