Those needing care and support during their battle with cancer now have a new resource in Lexington.

Oncologist Chelsea Rainwater Stillwell just joined Lexington Medical Center’s network as a member of Lexington Oncology. The LMC practice is affiliated with Duke Oncology Network and also includes Drs. Steven Madden, Asheesh Lal, Vijaya Korrapati and James Wells.

Stillwell earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. While there, she completed an internal medicine residency and hematology oncology fellowship.

Lexington Oncology’s newest physician is excited about the prospect of working with local residents to meet their diverse medical needs. She is currently accepting patients.

“I enjoy the opportunity to structure each person’s care individually by listening to the existing needs and fostering relationships built on trust,” Stillwell said in a LMC news release. “In addition to providing excellent medical care, I want my patients to know that I am there to offer support each step of the way.”

Stillwell is a member the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians among other professional organizations. Through medical mission trips, she has been able to impact people in Central America and Africa with much-needed medical care and resources.
