Gamecock men lose to Florida

Florida came to Columbia Saturday and left with a 65-41 win over South Carolina. It was the Gamecocks fifth straight loss.

The Gators (17-8, 8-4 SEC) crushed the Gamecocks (13-12, 4-8) at Colonial Life Arena by dominating in the paint.

Florida’s defense blocked eight shots in the first half, racing to a 21-point lead at halftime.

South Carolina did not get closer than 15 points in the second half.



South Carolina travels to No. 15/14 Tennessee on Tuesday for its second matchup this season vs. the Vols. UT posted a 70-63 victory over the Gamecocks on Jan. 20 in Columbia. The matchup will be broadcast on ESPNU and will tip at 9 p.m. ET.
