Roxie Lamona “Mona” Asbill

Roxie Lamona “Mona” Asbill, 77, of Elloree, South Carolina passed away February 5, 2018 at Elloree, South Carolina. She was born on January 3, 1941 in Timmonsville, South Carolina to the late Leon and Lila (Bell) Skinner. Mona was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was strong in her Christian faith and loved the Lord. Mona worked in the industrial tooling industry for over 25 years. When she was not working or tending to her family, Mona enjoyed cooking, fishing, card playing, an award winning crochet artist and an avid puzzle player. It is said that she made the best biscuits in the world. Mona most enjoyed time with her family. She cherished the time that they could be together and those times were treasured. Mona will be missed by those she loved and those that loved her.

Roxie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Willie “Buddy” Asbill, children: Patty Rosprim, Pamela Steele (Mike), Peggy Sanders (Kenny), Jimmy Asbill (Lynn), Jerry Asbill (Connie), David Asbill, grandchildren: Regina Williams (Kendall), Aaron DeAtley, Sarah Dunn, Russell Solomon (Jenny), Joshua Parsons, Donald “DJ” Lane Jr. (Melinda) Desiree “Nikki” Lane (Steve), Candice Lane (Kevin) Terry Hildebrand, Debra Mathis (Tony), Jeremy Asbill, Kayli Taylor (Johnathan) Great grandchildren: Sydney Williams, Emma Williams, McKenna Williams, Alyson Johnson, Zackary Johnson, Teason Dever, Emmagrace Solomon, Carter Agran, Paxton Steele, Justin Black, Aiden Wessinger, Alexus Wessinger, Gavin Dubose, Peyton McCaston, Lailah McCaston, Donald “Lil DJ” Lane III, Ariel Lane, Terry “Lil Terry” Hildebrand, Jr., Jordan Hildebrand, Logan Hildebrand, Annabelle Hildebrand, Xzavier Mathis, Dominick Mathis, Cheyenne Mathis, Zoey Mathis, Audrey Taylor. Mona also leaves behind three brothers: Carl Skinner (Virginia), Samuel “Sam” Skinner (Mary), and Ronnie Skinner (Katherine), and many other nieces, nephews and cousins that will treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Glenda “Rudine” Mucci, Nadale Ringer, a brother: Alan Skinner and a grandson: Curtis Solomon.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington SC 29073 on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 11:30 AM. Funeral services follow the family visitation in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor John Hoppe, III officiating. Interment will be at Southland Memorial Gardens following the chapel service.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Charity.
