Wilson is back, No. 10 Gamecock women get win at Kentucky

A’ja Wilson poured in 26 points to lead No. 10 South Carolina to a 81-64 win over Kentucky, Sunday. It was Wilson’s first game back after missing two games with an ankle injury,

Wilson, the leading scorer in the Southeastern Conference with 23.2 points per game, was 10 for 12 and she had eight rebounds.

Junior Alexis Jennings, who formerly played for Kentucky,  had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Gamecocks. USC improves to 16-3 and 5-2 in the SEC with the win.

Tyasha Harris had 12 points for South Carolina. It was South Carolina’s seventh straight win over Kentucky.

Maci Morris led Kentucky (9-11, 1-5) with 19 points.


The Gamecocks continue SEC play on Thursday, hosting Arkansas at Colonial Life Arena. Tipoff against the Razorbacks is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, and the game will air on SEC Network.
