Coroner identifies 70-year-old Columbia man who died in fire

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of an individual who died Saturday morning. The death occurred during a residential fire at approximately 6:30 a.m.  at 6905 Cleaton Road, Columbia. The fire was at the Point Arcadia condos.

Harold Morse, 70, of Cleaton Road, Columbia died at the scene.  An autopsy indicated that the cause of death was due to smoke inhalation due to the fire.

The Forest Acres Police Department and the Columbia Fire Department are investigating the incident.
