Richland County offices, State Museum, Main Street Ice, Richland Library closing due to weather
Due to inclement weather, Richland County Government offices will close at 12:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 3, with the exception of essential personnel.
Emergency officials continue monitoring weather models forecasting the possibility of snow across the Midlands later this afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Today’s early release is to not cause alarm, but to ensure County employees have adequate time to safely commute home before the weather system moves into the area.
Due to inclement weather, the South Carolina State Museum will close at 2 p.m., today, Jan. 3. The museum will monitor the weather conditions and will reopen as soon as the conditions are safe. Please follow @scstatemuseum on Twitter for future updates.
Main Street ICE, the City of Columbia’s outdoor ice skating rink, is closed today, January 3, due to the inclement weather, the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department announced.
Richland Library announces all locations are closing at 1 p.m., TODAY, Wednesday, January 3 due to inclement weather conditions, and we are planning to reopen at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 4.
