S.C. Treasurer Curtis Loftis awards winners of Facebook Future Scholar Sweepstakes
To enter the sweepstakes parents across the state were asked to post a photo on Facebook of their child sporting USC or Clemson gear with the hashtag “#FutureScholarHoller” for a chance to win $529 in college savings; and a football prize pack.
The randomly selected winners, their photo entries and prizes are as follows: Clemson University Winner: The Johnson Family of Greer: The prize was: Four tickets to Clemson-Citadel game on Saturday, at the Clemson Memorial Stadium; A $529 Future Scholar contribution presented by Loftis on-field before kickoff; A tour of the stadium

The University of South Carolina Winner: The Jonas Family of Rock Hill: The prize was: Four tickets to USC-Florida game on Nov, 11 at Williams-Brice Stadium; A $529 Future Scholar contribution presented by Loftis on-field before kickoff; Four pregame sideline passes; An item signed by head coach Will Muschamp
“It was wonderful to see so many beautiful family photo entries. We thank all who participated in #FutureScholarHoller and extend a hearty congratulations to the winners,” said Treasurer Loftis. “This contest was a great way to get families fired up about football while simultaneously raising awareness about the importance of saving for college with Future Scholar. We are proud to see how dedicated our state’s parents are to helping their children achieve a higher education, and look forward to the success of all Future Scholar Gamecocks and Tigers.”
The sweepstakes was open for entry from Sept.18 to Oct. 20. To qualify, each entrant was required to be the parent or guardian of a legal resident of South Carolina under the age of 18 (infants to high school seniors).
