Pvt. Timothy Ashcraft and Pvt. Ethan Shrader memorialized at Ft. Jackson service, Tuesday

Pvt. Timothy Ashcraft and Pvt. Ethan Shrader were memorialized Tuesday in a service in the chapel at Fort Jackson.

Ashcraft,18, and Shrader,19, were killed on Oct. 6 at Fort Jackson when a military vehicle drove into a formation of troops in training.
Friends, family and fellow soldiers gathered for the solemn service.

Six other soldiers were injured in incident in which the Ashcraft and Shrader were killed. The crash remains under investigation by the Army.
Fort Jackson is the Army’s largest basic training base. As many as to 50,000-a-year receive basic training at Fort Jackson.
