UPDATE – Chick-Fil-A sidewalk vending request at Main and Lady streets denied by city council

Columbia City Council denied the restaurant’s application for a food cart on Main Street Tuesday night.

The Five Points Chick-Fil-A at 901 Harden St. was asking Columbia City Council for approval to operate a stationary sidewalk vending cart at the northeast corner of Main Street and Lady streets.

Chick-Fil-A applied for a sidewalk vending license to sell chicken sandwiches, its waffle potato chips, Cokes in cans, and chocolate cookies from the location.

The food was to be prepared at the Harden Street restaurant and taken to the downtown location, according to the application.
The site would have included a tent with Chick-Fil-A logos and a table.
