Pop-Up Summer Drive-In Movie Series starts Saturday at Historic Columbia Speedway
What’s Next Midlands’ newest project, a pop-up drive-in movie theater, features a new movie every month between May and August in a festival environment. WHEN: Saturday, May 20. Gates open 7 p.m., movie starts shortly after sundown (8:30-ish.)
WHAT: “The Sandlot” will be shown on a 55-foot outdoor movie screen as the first installment of The Summer Drive-In Movie Series, presented by What’s Next Midlands and brought to life by the Historic Columbia Speedway in Cayce, S.C., and Fun Flicks Columbia. Guests can watch from their cars or bring picnic blankets or chairs and enjoy a nostalgic evening in an old-school, outdoor drive-in movie theater setting, with festival elements including food vendors, face painting, outdoor games and more.
