Main Street Mile, Fun Run Friday night, Governor’s Cup is Saturday morning

Kids, adults and a very festive crowd came out for the Main Street Mile Friday night in Downtown Columbia. It started and finished at the corner of Main and Lady Streets. The Friday runs, that included lots of kids, were sponsored by the S.C. Treasurer’s Office Future Scholar- savings- program. S.C. Treasurer Curtis Loftis sounded the horn to start the races.

On Saturday the Governor’s Cup Road Race Half-Marathon starts at 7 a.m. at 1312 Main St. It heads south toward the SC State House. The Governor’s Cup 5k Run/Walk starts at 7:30 a.m. It heads south toward the SC State House. The event finishes heading south on Park St. at 1110 Park Street.
There was a Kid’s Fun Run: Friday night too, on the Main Street Mile course.
