Police seek man for ranger attack at “no-fishing” spot

Columbia Police are looking for a man accused of attacking a park ranger Wednesday near the Broad River. The incident happened around 11 a.m. at 4122 River Drive

A police report said the man was fishing in a “no-fishing” area and the ranger asked the man to leave. Police said the man pushed the ranger into some rocks and she injured her back. Columbia Police Officers and a K-9 Team have been searching for the man.

Another person saw  the assault and tried to help, but the man grabbed the sunglasses of that person and threw them into the water.
