Addie Mae Swindler Jones

Addie Mae Swindler Jones, 70, of Columbia, joined the church triumphant on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Born November 30, 1946, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late James Oakman and Pearl Martin Swindler. Addie Mae was a lifelong member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and was an avid member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Fairlawn FCL Club and proudly sold Avon for 48 years.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Thomas Malcolm Jones, Sr.; son, Thomas Malcolm Jones, Jr. (Laura); daughter, Tiffany Pearl Jones Phillips (Chad); two grandchildren, Thomas Malcolm Jones, III, and Miller Gail Jones; sister, Betty Lou Fulmer; and brothers, Harry Swindler and Ronnie Swindler (Vie). Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Rials.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jones will be held 2 o’clock, Tuesday, May 16th, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1 o’clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
