Man accused of rape at doctor’s office, denied bond
Bond has been denied in General Sessions court for criminal sexual assault suspect Charles Lamb, according to the Columbia police Department.
Lamb is accused of sexually assaulting a 61-year-old victim inside of a restroom stall at 9 Richland Medical Park Drive Friday afternoon. He is also accused of trying to steal money from her purse.
Columbia Police arrested and charged Lamb, Saturday. He is also a registered sex offender.
Lamb, 46, was charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree, Kidnapping, Strong Armed Robbery and Trespassing.
Lamb was located at Lexington Medical Center Saturday evening after a hospital employee recognized him from news reports about the alleged crimes. The employee quickly notified the LMC Public Safety Department, and when officers arrived on scene, Lamb is accused of running outside. After a brief foot chase, Lamb was detained. LMC officers called CPD to transfer custody.
