Cayce’s Newman Boat Landing, on the Congaree River, officially reopened
After a long wait, the time has come.
The City of Cayce announced more than a week ago that the Thomas Newman Boat Landing is officially reopened. All repairs have been completed.
Cayce Mayor Elise Partin has said when work began that the landing is a critical resource for fisherman, boaters, canoe and kayakers and a sought-after destination. R.L. Morrison and Sons won the contract for the dock repair.
Repair on the Congaree River boat landing started in December. It was damaged in the flood of October 2015.
