Dorothy Harley Faulling

Dorothy Harley Faulling, 83, beloved wife of Floyd Eugene Faulling, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Dorothy was born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 4, 1933 to the late Leola Spires and James Auburn Harley. She retired from Midlands Technical College. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Platt Springs United Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching the children in Sunday School and vacation bible school. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was the Past Worthy Matron.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by a sister, Frances Maxine Hamilton.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 60 years, are her daughter, Beth Faulling Wright; her son, Michael E. Faulling (Rachel); sisters, Sarah Geddings and Jeane Threatt; brothers, James Mello Harley and Dale Harley; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Platt Springs United Methodist Church on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Ave, Columbia, SC 29205 or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.

The family would like to thank Blue Ridge Hospice for their care and kindness; especially Debra, Carmella, Krista, Kay and Ladonna.
