No bond was set for Lee during the hearing, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
The murder of Lee’s estranged wife, who was found dead last Tuesday, was investigated by SLED. Lee will continue to be held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia. His next scheduled court date is May 18, according to the sheriff’s department.

Lee was found dead in her home on Haleywood Lane near the Three Fountains area of West Columbia. According to an affidavit, Lee broke into the house last Monday night and attacked Lindsey Lee when she arrived home.

SLED agents found Lee in Simpsonville at his home. He submitted a DNA sample and it matched crime scene evidence, according to the SLED forensics team. Jason Lee was also charged with first degree burglary.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department asked SLED to investigate the death to avoid any conflicts of interest because Lee was a civilian sheriff’s department employee.
