U.S. Rep. James Clyburn to speak at Black History Extravaganza
The Honorable James E. Clyburn, South Carolina Sixth Congressional District, will serve as the keynote speaker at the City of Columbia’s Black History Extravaganza on Monday, Feb. 20 at Greenview Park, 6700 David Street, Columbia.
The Black History Extravaganza, which features exhibitors and live entertainment, will kick off at 10 a.m. with an exhibitor fair. The program will begin at 11 a.m. with Clyburn, the Assistant Democratic Leader and third-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, scheduled to speak at 11:30 a.m.
Admission to the Black History Extravaganza is free. Lunch will be provided. Tickets for lunch are $5 per person. Lunch tickets can be purchased at any recreation center with a check or money order. To purchase a lunch ticket with cash or a debit/credit card, visit the Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office located at 1111 Parkside Drive.
