Police pursue after West Columbia shooting

There was a shooting in the parking lot of the West Columba Habitat for Humanity Restore around 3 p.m. Monday, said Capt. Scott Morrison, assistant West Columbia Police chief.

The West Columbia Police Department had several units – and assistance from other law enforcement agencies-  and a helicopter on the scene looking for a man wanted in connection with that shooting. The Restore is on Augusta Road across from Lowe’s.

The person who was shot was taken to the hospital. The condition of the person who was shot is unknown at this time.

Morrison said police had ended the search for the suspect by 5 p.m. Monday. But he asks if anyone has any information, or if anyone saw anything that could help with the investigation to contact the West Columbia Police Department.
