Ward most recently served as a reporter for The Lexington County Chronicle & Dispatch News, and the editor and publisher of his own local news website, West Metro News.

Kirk Litton, executive managing partner of Midlands Media Group, which owns and operates the station and the digital newspaper, said: “Terry has more than 25 years of experience covering local news, so his knowledge and skills are perfect for this position. By adding Terry to our team, we’re once again demonstrating our commitment to provide compelling information and entertainment to our local community.”

A graduate of Francis Marion University, Ward began his newspaper career in 1989 at the Morning News in Florence and has worked for South Carolina newspapers in Lexington, Winnsboro, Greenwood, Loris, Conway, and Columbia.

Ward has won numerous South Carolina Press Association Awards for news and feature writing, while covering everything from dog shows and presidential visits to Easter egg hunts and bank robberies. Ward has also written for Columbia Business Monthly magazine.

ColaDaily strives to be a hyper-local daily digital publication covering news and events in Richland and Lexington counties with accuracy and integrity, and without bias.

“The lives of the people in the Midlands are interesting and important. It is my job as managing editor to tell your story and to report on what is meaningful to you. I relish the opportunity to do that, and I thank the owners of ColaDaily for giving me the chance,” said Ward.

Ward is married to Lana Ferguson Ward, a special-education teacher in Lexington County School District Two. He and Lana have three sons: Wilson, Jackson, and Henry.
