District Five begins 5-year-old kindergarten registration
Lexington-Richland School District Five has begun enrolling 5-year-old students for kindergarten, the district announced Monday.
District Five encouraged parents/guardians to use the online registration for 5-year-old kindergarten this year.
“This system provides a convenient and efficient way for parents/guardians to register their students,” the district said in a news release. “In-person registration will still be available for parents/guardians who choose not to use the online system. To register in person, parents and guardians should visit their zoned elementary school.”
“We are proud to offer online registration once again this year,” stted District Five Director of Elementary Education Michael Guliano. “Kindergarten is an exciting time for students and parents alike, and District Five is ready to welcome these families into our great community of learners. We encourage parents to register their children early and learn more about the school as they prepare for a year of quality teaching and learning in kindergarten.”
To be registered for kindergarten for the upcoming school year, children must be five on or before September 1, 2017. Once the online registration is completed, an appointment will be scheduled to finalize the registration. Parents or guardians should bring the following to their zoned elementary school:
· The child’s legal birth certificate
· A current South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, or a South Carolina Certificate of Medical or Religious Exemption
· A property tax receipt or a rental lease showing all occupants
· Two utility bills showing the correct home address
Online registration is available here. For more information on District Five’s 5-year-old kindergarten program or the online registration form contact your zoned elementary school.
