Lexington County man charged with attempted murder
A West Columbia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the Thursday night shooting of his roommate on Woodberry Road.
Bryan Henderson, 42, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
“Henderson spoke with deputies when they arrived at his home and admitted to the shooting,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “During the investigation, our deputies determined Henderson and his roommate got into an argument that led to the shooting.”
According to arrest warrants, the two men got into a fight over Henderson’s right to be in the home, which he had a key and had lived the past several months. When the fight escalated, Henderson allegedly used a .22-caliber Ruger handgun to shoot the victim in the head.
The victim, who was rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment, survived and doctors were able to stabilize his condition, the warrants said.
Henderson was being held Friday in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaited a bond hearing.
