The new campus off the 12th Street Extension will house Taylor Elementary School and Davis Early Childhood Center for Technology, and the school is being built to to hold up to 1,200 students. Students in kindergarten through second grade will be housed on the first floor, and the classrooms for grades three through five will be on the second floor.

The site is next to Busbee Creative Center for the Arts. District Two’s Career and Technology Center will be built adjacent to the new school.

Cost estimates for the 145,000-square-foot school are projected at $29 million, which is $2 million under the original budget for the project. The project is funded by a voter-approved bond referendum.
