Irmo 55, Northwestern 52
The Yellow Jackets pulled a out a close win on Saturday night, beating the Trojans 55-52 and inking a spot in the third round of the AAAA state playoffs. Irmo will host Gaffney High on Tuesday. Senior wing player Jevante Gross led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points and hauled in six rebounds, while senior post player Javis Howard recorded 14 points and led Irmo in rebounds with seven. Freshman point guard Devontae Shuler scored 10 points for Irmo.
Byrnes 63, Spring Valley 54
The Rebels are moving on to the third round of the AAAA state playoffs after their 63-54 win Saturday over the Vikings. Senior point guard Syverio Jones led Byrnes with 25 points, while senior guard Lorenzo Norman scored eight points. Senior guard Chris Adams recorded 22 points for Spring Valley, and sophomore guard DeAngelo Ward scored 11 points. Junior forward Noah Harper added nine points for the Vikings. Byrnes will face the winner of the Dorman vs. Hillcrest game.
Dutch Fork 41, Summerville 40
The Silver Foxes came away with a one-point victory Saturday night against the Green Wave, moving them to the third round of the AAAA state playoffs. Dutch Fork will face Wando High on Tuesday. Senior guard Austin Williams led Dutch Fork with 12 points, while freshman guard Jordan Davis scored nine points. Senior guard John Jenkins recorded 19 points for Summerville and senior forward Christian Kalacanic scored 12 points for the Green Wave.
Dreher 55, Eastside 53
The Blue Devils will face the winner of the Camden vs. Greenville game after their 55-53 win Saturday night over the Eagles. Junior guard Tevin Mack led Dreher with 21 points, while junior guard DeAndre Nathaniel scored 15 points of his own. Junior forward Grayson Stiglbauer ended his night with nine points for Dreher. Runkal Curry scored 12 points for Eastside, and Ray Wilson recorded 11 points.
Spring Valley 42, Wade Hampton (Greenville) 27
The Lady Vikings controlled the court Saturday, beating Wade Hampton 42-27. Spring Valley will move on to the third round of the AAAA state playoffs where they will face the winner of the Dorman vs. Westside game. Senior forward Cierra Carter led Spring Valley with 22 points, and junior guard Akia Dunlap recorded nine points. Senior guard Madison Bailey led the Generals with 10 points, while senior point guard Rebecca Spry added nine points.
