Lexington County enforcement team takes down 4th meth lab this week

Five days. Four meth labs. Twelve arrests. The officers of the Lexington County multi-agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) have earned a weekend off.

Their latest bust came before dawn Friday, as they seized a meth lab being operated at a motel on Harbor Drive near West Columbia.

Robert Carlton Snyder (photo provided)Sheriff’s  deputies went to the Executive Inn at 1107 Harbor Drive after receiving a tip that a lab was operating there. Deputies smelled a strong chemical odor that they recognized from training as a sign of a meth lab in operation.

Officers arrested William Jonathan Everett of Gaston, Franke Lane Medlin of West Columbia, Jessica Irene Norris of Columbia, Rebecca Suzanne Parnell of Lugoff and Robert Carlton Snyder of Camden. All five are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, possessing pseudoephedrine that was unlawfully converted from a pill form to a powder form and possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute it.

Deputies said they found abundant evidence of a meth lab operation in the room.

NET is made up of officers from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Batesburg-Leesville Police Department and Lexington Police Department.
