Chapin to hold Labor Day Parade and Festival

Downtown Chapin won’t be taking Monday off, as it’ll be bustling with activity during the 34th Annual Labor Day Parade and Festival. The theme of this year’s family-friendly event is “We Are the Champions.”

The parade is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the GIS parking lot. The route will loop through downtown Chapin on Lexington Avenue to Columbia Avenue, then down East Boundary and back to GIS.

Beaufort and Clark streets will be closed off to give way to vendor booths, arts & crafts, concessions, a children’s carnival with rides and the Chapin Champions Talent Contest.

The event will run until 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
